Ali Sheikholeslami

Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UofT and the Head of Fujitsu Co-Creation Research Laboratory at the University of Toronto

Ali Sheikholeslami is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UofT and the Head of Fujitsu Co-Creation Research Laboratory at the University of Toronto. His current research interests are in high-speed signaling and hardware annealing for beyond CMOS Scaling. In the past few years, he has been working closely with Fujitsu Labs of Japan in creating its Digital Annealer, a hardware for fast optimization. In particular, his team, in collaboration with researchers from Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, NY, and Toronto Western Hospital, have been utilizing the Digital Annealer to address some of the challenges in the area of radiotherapy. He has coauthored over 80 journal and conference papers, 10 patents, and a graduate-level textbook entitled “Understanding Jitter and Phase Noise”.
